Korean and Chinese filmmakers gathered at the Busan International Film Festival to brainstorm and enhance collaboration between the two film industries. The importance of sustained interpersonal exchange for creating new values was emphasized, and there was a consensus on the need for practical and systematic exchanges. On the morning of the 13th, the 2017 Korea-China Film Scenario Forum, jointly organized by the Korea-China Cultural Center and the Busan International Film Festival, saw the participation of key figures in the film industry, including Chairman Kim Dong-ho and President Lee Kyung-sook of the Busan Cinema Center, as well as numerous experts in screenplay writing. Yoon Chang-eop, the CEO of Moonwatcher, who delivered a presentation that day, systematically summarized recent exchanges between Korea and China in the field of film scenarios. He presented ways to activate collaboration based on key factors and cases derived from the collaborative process.

Dr. Do Sung-hee, who oversaw the entire event as the representative of the Han-China Film and Television Academy, gathered opinions from panelists on the necessity and methods of Korean-Chinese screenplay collaboration. The discussions also focused on key themes that could be addressed prominently in collaborative scenarios between the two countries. Opinions were gathered on collaborative efforts for intellectual property protection and strategies for successful screenplay competitions. Emphasizing the importance of sustained interpersonal exchange beyond simple bilateral interactions, there was a consensus on the need for a practical and systematic platform for exchange to create new values.
Shan Dongbing, the producer of works like 'Yongho Gate' and 'Janggang 7' (directed by Ju Sung-chi), suggested the potential for developing globally targeted projects through collaboration between Korean and Chinese writers. The forum featured panelists such as Tienbo, the scenario writer for 'Lost in White,' Xi Shirin, the writer of 'Kidnapping of a Big Star,' Shin Dong-ik, the writer of 'My Sassy Girl,' Oh Sang-ho, the writer of 'Manipulated City,' and Choi Jong-hyun, the writer of 'My Marriage Expedition.'

The Korea-China Cultural Center, which planned and hosted the Korea-China Film Scenario Forum, was established in 2012 with the goal of promoting mutual understanding through diverse exchanges between Korea and China, as well as discovering and sharing cultural values that will lead to a new era. Since August 2016, it has been operating the 'Silk Road China Film Exclusive Theater,' showcasing various genres of Chinese films to Korean audiences.
